Geelong has seen some big changes over the past few years with the introduction of new suburbs and the closure of several stores, and it’s no secret that the city’s hairdryers are among those industries that are struggling.
With the closure, the city will be able to see the new stores that have been built on the site of existing businesses, and those stores will be opening soon, with some new shops opening up too.
Geelong is also seeing an influx of younger workers who are also taking on more responsibility in the area.
“It’s great to see some of the younger employees joining the industry and the industry is now thriving, with a number of young businesses in the CBD and surrounding areas,” Geelong City Council’s chief executive, Michael Deane, said.
He said that younger people were keen to work in the hairdering industry, and the job could be an excellent fit for those people.
“In the coming months, the council will be looking to attract younger talent to the city through the opening of new jobs and the development of new businesses,” Mr Deane said.
“As the economy continues to grow and the workforce grows, there will be more opportunities for young people to work as a part of our economy.
But he also said that many young people who want to work at hairdresses in Geelong would still have to take up another position in the city.
The new job opportunities are likely to come from areas such as the eastern suburbs of Geelong, where the council is looking to establish new jobs for its workforce, and some of these areas have been struggling.”
The new employment opportunities are certainly available in these areas and will be a good fit for younger people in these parts of Geelong,” Mr deane said in an interview.
Geelong’s hairliner jobsGeelong City Councillor Michael Deans office is the location of Geels first and only salon and salon services.
We’re in the process of developing new services for Geelong to meet the needs of our growing population, and we are delighted to have the expertise of our experienced staff to support our vision,” a spokesperson for the Geelong city council said in a statement.
More jobs in the suburbsThe city council is keen to attract more younger people to Geelong’s local areas.
While the council said it was happy to support new and existing businesses to create new jobs, the area is seeing an increase in young people entering the sector.
In the first quarter of 2017, Geelong saw the number of 16-25 year-olds increase by more than 5 per cent compared to the same period in 2016, according to census figures.
It’s believed that this may be due to the arrival of many students at university and the completion of the Commonwealth Games in the spring of this year.
Younger people have also started working in the industry as they seek employment, which is good news for the industry.
According to a report from the Department of Employment, Employment and Workplace Relations, there were 2,300 new jobs created in Geelang in the first three months of 2017.
That represents a 24 per cent increase on the same time period in 2017.
