miami – hairdressed hairstylist hairdorist Melissa McElroy is the newest member of the Giants’ training staff.
McElry joins the team on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
The 28-year-old McElroys roots in Florida, and her extensive knowledge of hair, makeup and styling has landed her a place in the Giants staff, the organization said.
McElroy started her career at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Panthers as a player development assistant in 2016.
The following season, McElroe joined the Tampa-St. Petersburg Buccaneers.
She was promoted to the coaching staff in 2018, and she was named the team’s general manager in October of that year.
She spent the next four seasons working with the Tampa front office, where she helped build a contender, the Bucs’ victory record and overall record from 2014-17.
The Giants hired McElrie in May of 2019.
She was named general manager following the teams Super Bowl win in January 2020.
McElfroys first head-coaching experience came when the Tampa team fired head coach Mike Pettine, who left the team in late 2018 to take the head coaching job at Clemson.
The Tampa Bay Times reported in September that McElreys departure from the team was due to her family being affected by Hurricane Irma.
She is also a graduate of Miami Dade College, and has been a member of several other Florida organizations.
She has a bachelor’s degree in social work and a masters degree in psychology.
